CN GHI Global Health Leaders Drs. Doug Postels and Tesfaye Zelleke are recognized in an Innovation District Article published earlier this month. Both providers are focused on central issues in global pediatric neurological care. Dr. Postels will be the Principal Investigator for a Phase I/IIa clinical trial for the pediatric cerebral malaria drug, DON, in partnership with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and funded by a 5.8 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Visit the BlogDr. Zelleke is working in partnership with CN GHI and the CN Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Program Team to address the gap in pediatric epilepsy in Ethiopia through a sustainable collaboration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. The first year of a three year program will focus on increasing access to high quality epilepsy care, establishing treatment guidelines, training Ethiopian care providers, and providing educational materials for families. The next two years will focus on growing the program beyond Addis Ababa to other areas in Ethiopia through local partnerships with epilepsy advocacy groups.
