Fall 2019 Introduction to Global Child Health Course
October 14, 2019 @ 8:00 am – October 18, 2019 @ 8:00 am
Held biannually, the Global Child Health Course is geared specifically towards residents but is open and available for all of CNHS. Designed with a view to not just improving access to healthcare internationally, it works to ensure this care is compassionate, comprehensive, and considered. The course is organized around issues central to both global health and the personal experience of our providers.
At the GHI at CNHS, we recognize that effective global health care must be both specialized and sustainable, micro and macro. Students in the Global Health Course are trained to recognize, diagnose, and manage illnesses and tropical diseases not seen in the US through case studies and personal expertise. However, they are also trained to see the bigger picture, examining how healthcare is delivered, policies are formed and advocated for, and resources are managed in different cultural and economic contexts.
