Fall 2019 Introduction to Global Child Health Course

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
This week-long course, co-Sponsored by the Pediatric Residency Program and GHI, is designed for pediatric healthcare providers with a global perspective. This week features dynamic discussions with global health leaders and Children’s National experts. Last Fall’s course included:
- A field trip to Dr. Michael Hsieh’s Schistosomiasis Lab at NIH,
- Global Health Professorial Rounds featuring GHI-funded Research Projects,
- Educational research platform featuring an interactive e-module on malaria and an interactive hands-on session on the WHO Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT) Guidelines,
- Malaria Lab Practicum hosted by CNHS Laboratory Medicine,
- Child Survival and Introduction to Global Health Policy sessions facilitated by USAID experts,
- Workshop on Pediatric Radiology in resource limited settings.
- Sessions are scheduled for Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. Participate in person or through WebEx, all are welcome. No need to attend the entire course–sessions are open to any students, residents, fellows, nurses, staff, and faculty. CME available.
