Open Studio 3: Global Health Initiative Exploration in Global Health Awards 2019-2020 Academic Year (July ‘19-June ’20)
January 10, 2019 @ 5:00 am – 7:00 am
Cardiology Learning Center (next to Cardiology Clinic), Floor 3, Main – Room M3102
The Children’s National Health System (CNHS) Global Health Initiative (GHI) is pleased to sponsor the Global Health Exploration Award. GHI seeks to foster and encourage the development of research that addresses key pediatric global health challenges, improves health outcomes in resource-limited settings, and favorably positions faculty to obtain extramural funding in pediatric global health research. Projects to be considered must be conducted in a low or middle-income country (LMIC) on a pediatric topic of importance to that country and/or have direct relevance to emerging global threats. Proposals to study a health issue in a developing country that could be studied using a US population are not encouraged and will receive a lower score. Please direct questions about this RFA to globalhealth@childrensnational.org
Open Studio Workshop / Discussion with GHI Research Team
An Open Studio workshop is scheduled to answer questions, assist with formulation of successful proposals, and stimulate partnerships across the institution. This will be an informal discussion facilitated by members of the Global Health Initiative and is designed as a place where those considering applying for the award can discuss their plans and seek feedback and suggestions for application/project improvement.
Applicants are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the Open Studio. If they are unable to attend the Open Studio, applicants are invited to set up a call with members of the GHI research team prior to award submission (all past successful grant recipients attended an open studio or met with the GHI team).
A light lunch will be served at the Open Studio. To RSVP for the Open Studio or schedule a call, please email: globalheatlh@childrensnational.org
GHI Awardees – please try to join us for one Open Studio for our new RFP for the Explorers in Global Health Grant!
